Here is what just a few parents are saying about the Abilities
Center services. If you have a story, we'd love to hear it
send stories to therapy@abilitiescenter.com or submit here.
My son has been coming here since the age of 2. He
has been working on the symptoms of his problems (gross, fine and
speech delays). We have gone from not being able to sit unassisted
to walking and starting to speak. The staff has worked through many
issues, including almost one year of crying when in therapy. No one
has ever given up on him and we’ve tried many approaches…basically
whatever works. The staff has also worked with me, giving me tips/advice
to try at home to reinforce what was done in a therapy session. This
has not been an easy road with quick fixes, but I’ve had a
long-term partner in it with me for the long haul.
-Undiagnosed – Developmental delay (Jacob, age 6).
My son was language delayed. The staff at the Abilities
Center helped him express himself so he was able to let us know what
his needs were. His tantrums also reduced significantly as a result
of therapy. He entered pre-school and loves it! He has made friends
and his teachers praise his abilities.

The best decision I have ever made was bringing
my son Wilder to the Abilities Center. Wilder is autistic, non-verbal,
and has many sensory issues. We did previous therapy with no progression.
We started at the Abilities Center 6 months ago and we have been
moving forward ever since. My child has found ways to communicate
his needs to me and I have learned to pick up the cues. We went from
daily tantrums to few and far between. My son has improved skills
in every area of his life. He makes amazing eye contact, is interactively
playing, following simple demands, understanding language, helping
to dress himself, eating better, taking baths without tantrums, and
most importantly having fun and developing a great sense of humor.
The staff at the Abilities Center is like a family, full of ideas
and support. I don’t know what we would have done without them.
Now, I can see that Wilders’ possibilities for the future are
endless. I would recommend this facility to anyone with a special
needs child, they work miracles, and they certainly did for us. Ever
thankful to the wonderful staff! Holly & Mike (Wilder’s
parents).

Thank goodness for the Abilities Center! We brought
our son for a sensory integration assessment and subsequent therapy
after a pre-school program expelled our son for throwing temper tantrums
due to transition difficulties. The Abilities Center focused on our
son’s strengths and in so many ways has helped not only our
son, but our family. Our son now transitions from task to task without
the melt-downs. I would recommend this to any parent who asked me.

My child has made huge advancements since coming
here. She had no words and now her vocabulary is amazing. She is
able to do self help tasks as simple as feeding herself, which she
never did before. She hated to get messy and now loves to play in
the sand and with finger paint! She has made significant gains in
school also and loves other kids!
