This is a computer-based treatment program, designed to promote and enhance brain performance. This program challenges the patient to synchronize a range of hand and foot exercise to a precise tone heard through headphones. Immediate auditory feedback is provided and progress is measured in milliseconds.
Over the course of treatment, 15 one-hour sessions at the rate of two to three times a week, the patient learns to:
• Focus and attend for longer periods of time
• Increase physical endurance and stamina
• Filter out internal and external distractions
• Improve ability to monitor mental and physical actions as they occur
• Progressively improve performance and sequencing
Improving rhythm and timing may also significantly improve performance in:
• Motor function
• Balance
• Bilateral coordination
• Sensory integration
• Motor planning and sequencing
• Memory and organization

Target clients for this program are children with ADD/ADHD, autism, sensory processing disorders, and cerebral palsy. The thousands of repetitions in the hand and foot tapping tasks can lead to changes in the neural timing needed for motor planning and sequencing. The program has had a positive affect on children with motor planning and sequencing problems, learning disabilities, language and speech problems and cognitive deficits as well as in assisting in the improvement of the regulation of aggressive disorders. |
