Interactive Metronome
Interactive Metronome is an advanced treatment program designed to promote and enhance brain performance. This computer based program uses headphones and special hand and foot sensors where a rhythmic beat and response is measured to the millisecond.
Over the course of the treatment, patients learn to:
- Focus and attend for longer periods of time
- Increase physical endurance and stamina
- Filter out internal and external distractions
- Improve ability to monitor mental and physical actions as they are occurring
- Progressively improve performance and sequencing
Improving rhythm and timing may also significantly improve performance in:
- Motor function
- Balance
- Bilateral coordination
- Sensory integration
- Motor planning and sequencing
Structured, Goal Oriented
- Challenges the patient to synchronize a range of hand and foot exercises to a precise computer-generated reference tone heard through headphones
- An audio or audio/visual guidance system provides immediate feedback measure in milliseconds and a score is provided
- 15 one hour sessions v 2-3 sessions a week
