Aqua Kids Individual Swim Instruction
Does your child love the water? Does he or she need to learn to love the water? Swimming lessons are wonderfully therapeutic.
What is it?
An Abilities Center recreational therapist offers private and semi-private Aquatic Experience and Swim Instruction based on the abilities and needs of the child. Aqua kids aged five and older meet with an instructor in the pool. Basic water safety, stroke development, strength, endurance and coordination are addressed. In addition, the time in the pool promotes relaxation, freedom of movement and better mobility through reduced joint strain and most importantly, having fun!
Who is it for?
This program allows children of all diagnoses to benefit from improved posture, balance, coordination, body awareness and sensory feedback. Our instructors work with a range of diagnoses, such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down Syndrome, Sensory Integration Dysfunction, poor coordination and Muscle Weakness.
Where is it?
The Aqua Kids Program is available at the Jewish Community Center (6600 West Maple at Drake) and at Franklin Racquet Club (29350 Northwestern Highway).
